What is the Lunch Buddy program?

The Lunch Buddy program is a phenomenal opportunity for the entire community of Redmond. It enables adults to invest into the future of our community by contributing to the well-being of our youth. Our students also benefit from a priceless opportunity that they may not have had otherwise.

Students are nominated by a teacher, staff member, parent, principal, or counselor. These individuals nominate students who will benefit socially, emotionally, and academically from having a one-on-one mentor to provide encouragement, support and individual recognition.

For one hour each week, our mentors meet with their students to complete crafts, provide homework help, play checkers (or other games) or just talk. There are currently 32 students actively participating in the Lunch Buddy program. Additionally, we have 12 children on the waitlist, due to our need for more mentors.
